Britney dumps her Brit

You'll doubtless be as unruffled as we were by news that Britney Spears has reportedly parted ways with her most recent boyfriend, British paparazzo Adnan Ghalib. Apparently, the penny finally dropped for the former pop princess when she realised Adnam stood to make a whole lot of money from their relationship. D’oh.
"She thought he was her knight in shining armour," says a poetic-sounding friend. "He gained her trust by protecting her from photographers and being a friendly face in her darkest periods. But Britney now believes he was making money. She's deeply upset and feels used."
Some reports suggest Britters has even taken out a restraining order against Adnam. However, the man himself refuses to confirm or deny their break-up. "All I can say is I haven't been in contact with Britney since early Friday morning," he says. "The reason being, I have had to attend a family funeral in Santa Barbara. My phone has been off during this time out of respect for my family." Hmmm...
So how's Britney been coping since the break-up? Well, she's been partying with the paparazzi (sigh) and visiting a pet shop with friend/manager Sam Lufti (double sigh). Yep, the star was seen leaving Petco in Beverly Hills with an as-yet-unidentified pet in a box. Our guess is it was a baby alligator. Well, she does seem to have a thing for snappers...
